A recent report by Which? Magazine (July 2011) pointed out that most solar companies failed to take into account the potential effects of shading when assessing the output of a solar PV system. To be certain of its estimates, The Green Home Company carries out a full technical survey before every installation. Because of our size we are able to deploy the latest technological wizardry in the form of a device called a ‘SunEye’ which gives an accurate measure of the extent of any shading by taking a panoramic picture of the sky from the roof and tracking the path of the sun across the picture. We can then download this data to the latest Solar PV design software to model the performance of the system for a whole year. All very clever and just one of the ways we strive to get it right every time.

Our in-house technical team will design and specify a solar PV system that has been optimised specifically for your property, taking into account local weather conditions, the structure and condition of your roof and any other aspects that need special attention.
